These solutions are not nice-to-haves, they are essential for your business, and your business model.

The latest Sandvine Global Internet Phenomena Report, due out on March 5, shows that the world consumes nearly 33 exabytes of data a day.

To put that into perspective, if you’re the proud owner of a new iPhone, and you treated yourself to the big 512GB model, 33EB is enough data to fill your phone to the brim approximately 64 million times. Every day.

Obviously, that’s a lot of data traveling over the world’s internet pipelines. Building and maintaining the infrastructure needed to transport that amount of data on a daily basis is a herculean task. But managing that amount of data is even harder.

With some six million internet applications available to consumers and businesses -- most of them encrypted, often containing multiple sub-applications, each with a critical function -- trying to keep your network safe, reliable, accessible, and functioning in such a way so as to keep every single customer happy, while staying profitable, can seem beyond impossible.

So, what if I told you it was not only possible, but simple? Easy, even. Sandvine is proud to announce today a number of new enhancements to its application QoE portfolio that will make data and network management easier, faster, and more manageable than ever before.

Built on its industry leading AppLogic application classification product, Sandvine is introducing the following new products:

    • App QoE Scoring – measuring and scoring the application experience of each customer on your network in real time, so you can take proactive measures to avoid customer complaints and prevent customer churn. Combining our AI/ML capabilities with regular human testing of application experiences, this “MOS-like” scoring of applications is the most sophisticated QoE score available in the industry today.
    • Operations Insights – graphical user workflow that shows application-level problems and helps isolate them, including alarming on application degradations and outages. It shows not just where congestion is occurring on your network, but who’s being affected, why, where, and when.
    • Planning Insights – a graphical user interface and data export that complements your existing planning tools to enable planning based on application usage. It provides accurate and independent capacity measurements and predictions for the network, as well as applications.
    • Sandvine Installation Engine – a one-click, automated installation tool that will get you up and running with your Sandvine solution in a matter of hours.

All of these new products are built around our application identification and classification product, AppLogic, now offering:

    • Unmatched application identification, with >95% accuracy of encrypted traffic, proven in back-to-back testing in large tier 1 networks, far above the 50-60% accuracy available from other solutions.
    • First-ever content categorization that enables you to analyze, optimize or monetize different types of content – e.g., know the consumption, popularity, and quality of File Delivery vs On-Demand vs Streaming so that you can take meaningful actions appropriate to each different file type.
    • Unparalleled application visibility to enrich your historical data in big data platforms that is unusable today and enrich it with application visibility so you can monetize it.
    • Independent, verifiable traffic data you can use to accurately invoice OTT providers. Renumeration for infrastructure investments will need accurate traffic data. No other solution gives you the level of granular application data necessary for OTT triage and billing verification.

With these solutions, you’ll be able to quickly – and easily – see what’s going on with applications throughout your network, enabling you to better troubleshoot, plan and optimize relevant traffic impacting subscriber satisfaction. This gets you closer to true subscriber sentiment, and it gives you visibility into the OTT content consuming your bandwidth. This is the only way to truly analyze, optimize and monetize your network.

These solutions are not nice-to-haves, they are essential for your business, and your business model.

For more information on our new products, see our press release and visit us at MWC24 in Barcelona to see a live demo. While you’re there, we’ll be happy to share the full 2024 GIPR and discuss what its findings mean for your network and your business.
